Research Report


Researching was fun and getting to learn more facts about a topic I'm interested in was exciting.

Audience Question: How is the research process going? Have you found a wide variety of sources?

The research process went well I found some good facts and statistics that will help my argument. All of my sources are online so I should look for a wider variety.

Sources:

Author: Will Infantine is the speaker.
Audience: Mostly conservative, white, and richer men.
Purpose: Gain the support of those mean and explain why he thinks the gender pay gap favors them.
Important details: He is speaking against the Paycheck Fairness bill in New Hampshire. He claims that men are paid more because they take higher paying jobs than women.

AAUW ISSUES: GENDER PAY GAP

Author: American Association of University Women
Audience: There slogan is "empowering women" so women.  Younger women are likely more targeted.
Purpose: Encourage women to seek equal opportunity and equal rights.
Important details: The articles state ways women are discriminated against and why this is a problem.  States solution and ways to being active in ending discrimination

U.S. Women’s Soccer Doesn’t Deserve Equal Pay — They Deserve More (Huffington Post)

Author: Justin Block. Male (unbiased)
Audience: The opponents to the US soccer team being paid equally (has a argumentative tone)
Purpose: Prove that the team deserve equal to if not more pay than then men's team.
Important details: About how in terms of profit, women should be paid more.

U.S. Women's Soccer Team Members File Federal Equal-Pay Complaint

Author: Bill Chappell
Audience: The public.  The piece is informative.
Purpose: To inform the public about the complaints the US team filed to fight for equal pay
Important details: Gives good information and facts about this recent piece of news.

Women in the Labor Force in 2010

Author: United States Department of Labor
Audience: The public. Just facts no opinions.  
Purpose: Give information and stats about women's labor
Important details: Good for listing facts of women in the workforce
